Who is Veteranwear.us?
In the Beginning
I am a proud Navy veteran who wanted to have the ultimate website for the ship I served on during my four year enlistment, the USS Conserver (ARS-39) from January, 1972 to June, 1975. After my discharge I left diesel engines behind and entered college on the GI bill. I majored in communication, specializing in radio and TV production. Over my nearly 40 years I have settled down as an internet marketing consultant, helping small businesses grow and better serve their customers.

The Conserver Facebook community got so active over the past year that I realized that there are a lot of us out there. I also realized that there are probably a slew of vets who don’t use Facebook. And sure, a ship commissioned in 1943 is going to have vets that don’t even use the Internet.
The Ship’s Website and Selling Caps to My Shipmates
Once I got the website up I started thinking how nice it would be to purchase a hat with my ship name and silhouette on it. It didn’t take long for me to realize that if I wanted one, so would other Conserver shipmates. I received my first batch from the embroiderer and they started selling like hotcakes. Then I started getting requests from sailors of other ships. That was yesterday.
I’m excited to see how many of my fellow veterans I can serve with VeteranWear.us. Let me know if you have any requests or suggestions.
